Sleepy Swimmers!

Stephanie came out to CO this week to visit and to meet the girls so we decided to take them swimming for their first time! The dr. said 2 months, which it will be 2 months in 2 days...close enough! So...we were VERY excited to take them swimming, however, both girls slept the entire time! Even the colder water didn't wake them up!...But I was thankful for the sleepiness opposed to crying or screaming in the water:) So they were pretty uneventful for their first swim lesson, but I'm sure they are already looking forward to going to the pool again soon!

Even though they slept the whole swim time, they sure were tired when we were done!

Summer Picnic:)

We went up to Daniels Gate the other night to enjoy the warm summer night and have a picnic with the Buckley's. It was a great night filled with food, friends and Bocci ball! It was right around the time of night when the girls get fussy, so they just wanted a little more attention--which is starting to happen more and more each day as they are awake now most of the day. However, it was really nice to get out and enjoy the warm summer night before Winter gets here!!!

Ava was very interested in the babies and what they were doing...

She managed to get most of the yogurt in her mouth:)

Bocci ball...

So cute!

Braden invented the Bradorama ride for the girls to try to get them to sleep...it didn't work very well but at least he had fun with it!

Molly is the big sister!

Since the beginning of our pregnancy, Molly was predetermined to be the "big sister," as she was always titled "Baby A" which meant she would be the first baby out! As for now, this is starting to hold true to her personality. Molly is starting to play the role as Ellie's big sister...even though she's only 1 minute older! Throughout the night, Molly is the one to wake up crying to let us know "they" are hungry. I walk in and Molly is crying out of starvation, while Ellie lays there happy trying eat her hand. Throughout the day, Molly lets me know when "they" need their diaper changed, or when "they" are simply just tired or want to be moved to the swing, out the swing, etc. "Most" of the time, Molly is the fussier one (probably because of her sensitive tummy,) but the other day, they were both crying so I was holding both of them and rocking them together. Molly stopped crying and Ellie continued. Molly put her hand on Ellie's back and it appeared like she was trying to comfort her and let her know everything was going to be ok. I'm not saying at 2 months old this was intentional, but I like to think so! Regardless, these are the little moments I hope to remember forever!

As for smiling, Ellie is starting tto think it funny when I say "lululululululululu," and Molly seems to think the ceiling fan is funnier than I am because she just lays there and looks up and smiles at it! Hopefully we will make them "giggle" soon!

Here are some pictures with these pretty bows that our friends got us that I wanted in their professional pictures but their heads were too small at the time and they were way too fussy to put them on! I think they're cute so we'll have to get some more pictures with them soon!:)

Molly thought I was being ridiculous trying to get these pictures...clearly I was boring her!

A typical afternoon...we were laying there and they were both pulling my hair--this may start to hurt soon!

It was a really hot day yesterday so they enjoyed being in their diapers for a little while:)

Meeker

We took our first trip to Meeker last weekend and the girls did great on our 4 hour road trip! They slept most of the way and I fed them in the car and then we stopped to change and burp them...worked out great! It was a pretty relaxing weekend, minus the girls being somewhat fussy most of the time we were there...which only resulted in 2 good nights of sleep for both of them!:)

We were able to make it up to the ranch for a family photo, which required a lot of work, but hopefully someday the picture will be well worth it! Once we got up there, the girls rode on our laps the rest of the way, which was a lot of fun for them! Here are some pictures of our weekend...

Napping on the window cushion

Ahhh...it felt so good for them to stretch after our long car ride! And clearly, Jackson missed them!!

A day in the life of Molly & Ellie at 7 weeks old:)

At 7 weeks old, we are finally starting to get into a good routine during the day and night. My "routine" doesn't always go as planned, but we're trying! At night I am trying to get into a habit of bath time, "dinner" time, and then bed time! This works well most of the time and they have had a couple 6 hour sleep stretches in the past week...which is amazing! Since there are 2 of them, I never wake up panicked that something is wrong...I just wake up well rested and am thankful for their 6 hours of sleep and for ours!

They are starting to smile more and more each day, which is so much fun to watch! However, I read a book on twins last night and found out that for these first few months for them, they are measured by their "corrected" age opposed to their "gestational" age. Their gestational age is 7 weeks, but their corrected age is really only 3-4 weeks! So I'm giving them a little leeway on their developmental milestones... besides, I don't want to rush them growing up, they're already growing too fast! So as for now, I'm enjoying how they both love to cuddle up in your arms and fall asleep, the amount of naps they take during the day (most of the time,) watching them sleep together in the same crib...while they can both still fit in there, how they both immediately fall asleep once the car starts, and their little noises that they make...which I believe is their way of communicating with each other!

I know its hard to believe, but they aren't always perfect!:)

3 week Photo Session

Here are a few of the pictures from our photo session when the girls were 3 weeks. I think the photographer did a pretty good job, considering his subjects were a disaster the whole time and peeing, pooping and crying the entire hour! However, seeing these pictures really shows me how much they have grown and changed in just 3-4 weeks! There are some other pictures that I will post after I get their baby announcements out (yes, I'm a little late on that!)
