Inaccurate measurements???

So we went to the dr again today for a biophysical profile exam...basically another ultrasound measuring them again, the fluid, cord flow, etc. Just to show how much their measurements vary, today measured baby a at approximately 4 lbs 10-12 oz. And baby b at a whopping 6 lbs 8 oz! So I am very curious to see what their actual birth weight ends up being! However, this u/s tech seemed to get better angles and measurements then the one on Tuesday got, which now raises mor concern of the babies almost 2 lb weight difference. All the doctors are having a meeting tomorrow morning and will be reviewing my chart, in addition to calling the high risk obgyn to get his opinion again. My fingers are crossed that he will advise to move the induction date up earlier then next Friday. I really just think baby A will grow better out here with us! That is just my new "motherly instinct" kicking in!:-). I'm ready to meet our babies!!!

36 Weeks!!!

These are hopefully the last pictures I will have to take of my growing belly! We had our 36 week doctors appointment yesterday and had a stress test, ultrasound, and visit with the doctor...yes, a 3 hour long morning! Everything looks good, however Baby A is still falling behind and is now possibly under the 10th percentile in weight...~4 lbs 6 oz (Baby B is about 5 lbs 8 oz.)--However, these estimates could be WAY off, so it will be interesting to see what they weigh when they come out! This is their only concern so they consulted with the high risk OBGYN who advised to induce us at 37 weeks opposed to 38 weeks. We now have a scheduled induction for Friday, June 3. I am hoping and praying we don't make it that long and I can get these babies out on my own so they can start growing in the real world!

28th Birthday--5/19/2011

This year on May 19, the last thing that was on my mind was my birthday! Being on bed rest, and on medication that mae me feel crappy, and having these 2 growing babies weighing me down in my belly...I really wasn't feeling like doing any sort of "celebration." It turned out to be a pleasantly surprising nice day:)

I woke up to the door bell at 8:30 am and was given strict instructions from Stephanie to make sure I answered the door. I opened it to a cheery guy saying "Happy Birthday! From Stephanie Ho!" And he handed me 3 boxes filled with the most beautiful and delicious pastries I'd ever seen!

I also came downstairs to birthday decorations that 2 little birds did when I went to bed:)

And the biggest bonus to having 3 heartbeats in my body, I got 3 cakes!!! It couldn't get any better then that!!:)

Things I have always taken for granted...

Showering
Shaving my legs
Brushing my teeth
Brushing my teeth without gagging
Running up and down the stairs
Putting dog food and water in Jacksons bowl (requires bending down)
Sleeping on my back or stomach
Cleaning the kitchen...which requires being on my feet for long periods of time
Vacuuming...which is a type of cleaning that I actually love doing!
Clipping and painting my toenails...not that I don't love pedicures, I just think that I do just as good of a job!
Blowdrying and straightening my hair
Cooking
Laundry...I hate doing it but maybe I'll actually like it soon?

Hopefully I will have a new found appreciation for all these things once these little munchkins are here!:-). However, I do have a huge appreciation for anyone who ever has or has to be on bed rest for any length of time!!!

35 Weeks--Day 8 of Bed Rest

8 days of bed rest so far...my pictures have been limited due to my 1 trip allowed up and down the stairs a day. I decided to make an extra trip up today to get some pictures taken! Now that we will have hit 35 weeks tomorrow, I'm feeling a little more confident if they were to decide to come now:) We have a dr. appt tomorrow, which I'm sure we'll come home with a report of "just keep doing what you're doing and we'll see you next week." Ugh! It will be frustrating to not get any further report, but that's what I'm expecting...so we'll see! However, according to my almost 2 year old niece, she told my sister last week that Aunt Mimi's babies will be coming "Tuesday morning." So...we'll see how good Ayla's toddler intuition is!

I wasn't going to take anymore pictures, but this one is just for the girls to appreciate the amount of room they are taking up in my belly:) They should be about 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 lbs now!

Molly's side:)

Ellie's stuffed animals anxiously awaiting her arrival!

I'm having a hard time keeping the ribbons up on the wall:-/ I'll fix it when my belly isn't in the way anymore:)

Their signs ready to be put in the front yard when they come!

Jackson is starting to really enjoy having Gramma here. She takes him on walks, gives him treats, fills his bowls with food and water, etc. Today he was over laying with me on the couch so he jumped up in the chair with her to smother her with love. They are really having a good time doing some Gramma/Grandson bonding:)

Home Sweet Home:)

When we headed to the hospital on Sunday, we expected to be there for maybe 3 hours...those 3 hours turned into 4 days! The doctor today finally released me and sent me home to be put on strict bed rest:-/ That's okay though, because at least I'm home!!! My mom was able to fly in today and has already made being at home, laying on the couch, much more tolerable. She's already done I think 3 loads of laundry, emptied the dishwasher, is helping getting the hospital bag ready--since I obviously wasn't prepared this week! So now its just a waiting time!

I'm on medication every 4 hours to keep the contractions down, so as soon as the babies start ignoring that, we will be headed back to the hospital, hopefully for their arrival at that point!

All in all, I'm happy to be home, Braden can finally go to work and not have to sit at the hospital all day with me, and Jackson is happy to be laying next to me on the couch...protecting me and his sisters:)

Day 3

Today is the third day being in the hospital and still no babies! It was a better night sleeping but contractions started again at about three am. The doctor came in this morning and said I will be in here again tonigh...ugh! We don't think any doctor on call wants to take the responsibility of sending me home so they just keep passing me to the next one. Oh well cause I guess we are in the best place possible!

Overall the babies are looking good..lungs just need to get a little more developed and we will be better off. We will be taking a tour of the NICU soon, but hopefully each day I'm here will be one less day they are in there!

Other than all of that I think this has been a good test run for both of us. We are both very ready and excited for our girls to get here! Braden now has the hang of the hospital and knows his way around, he has also become very good with unplugging and plugging me back into all the machines. Very honestly, he is probably the best nurse I've had so far! He keeps my water full, orders my food, asks plenty of questions to the nurses and doctors, and keeps an eye on the heart/contraction monitor at all times...I think he's ready to be a dad!

In the meantime, I keep playing this song:-)

34 weeks/ mothers day

What would being pregnant be without a 34 week trip to the hospital!? In all honesty, I think the babies were just trying to give me my first mothers day present! On Sunday afternoon, I started experiencing the strongest contractions I have felt thus far and they were about 3 to 5 minutes apart. Going to the hospital is a tough call when you've never done this before...and when you're husband is the contraction pro and is telling you to relax and you'll be fine...ugh!!! So after a call to the doctor, it was easy to know that we needed to come in. Low and be hold the contractions were getting closer together and more intense as the night went on. They have been rotating me between two medications to get them to slow down...which the side effects to both are not fun either.

We had an ultrasound this morning and everything is looking good. Baby a is now measuring about 4 lbs and B is about 5...which is what we were hoping for. Their lung development is in the "immature" zone still but getting very close. I am getting shots of steroids to give their lungs a jump start so we'll see how that goes. I also got an amniocenteses done this morning to check for any infection in their fluid...so far all is good!

At this point every day will be better and better, so just keep your fingers crossed for 1 more day each day!!

Almost to 33 Weeks!!!

32/33 Week Update: We had a dr. appt last week and all is good but it was our first not "perfect" appointment. Baby A is measuring at ~3 lbs 4 oz and Baby B was at ~4 lbs, which is just a bigger spread then they would like to see. Since I am now going every week, they are going to do some "twin monitoring" tomorrow to see if they can detect anything. We are also going to have another ultrasound next Tuesday to re-measure her growth. In the meantime, I'm trying to rest as much as possible, and up my calories...which sounds like fun, but isn't as glorius as it sounds when space is so limited! The Dr. said they will be happy if she just gets to 4 lbs, so right now we are just aiming for that:)

My friend Gretchen got the babies these cute little outfits...we were intending on wearing them home from the hospital, but we may have to wait for them to gain a little weight:)

I got these for the hospital as well...but again, not sure if they will fit while they are in there or not!?

A lady at work said to me last week "it looks like you swallowed a big ball!" So here is me and the beach ball inside of me:)
