Making big steps!

We've been reaching some big milestones so I thought I would play some "catch up" with what the girls have been up to:) This week BOTH girls have successfully "gone" on the potty at least once a day. Ellie will tell me now before she has to go, and then she actually follows through with it once I put her on. I'm not pushing the whole potty training thing at all, because lets face it, I am a big fan of convenience, and two 2 years olds in underwear does not seem convenient at all! But I do think its fun that they are into it and I am not having to do any forcing:) They both like to be in the bathroom together and close the door on me, and then there are just a bunch of giggles from there! Molly has fully entered her "2's." She is extremely hot and cold...and just skips out on the middle part. She can throw a tantrum of the century, and then two seconds lately, completely win your heart over and make you forget it even happened...that takes talent! She loves to be goofy in front of new people and tries to entertain them. She is extremely demanding, which isn't good, but on the good side, she knows what she wants. She loves to go off and play with "big kids" whenever they are around. She will challenge herself on every piece of the play ground and has come to be quite the risk taker. She will never accept help and says "my do it!" And then once her task is comlete, she says "yay! my did it!" At least she is proud of her accomplishments:) Everything is hers right now..."my" mommy, "my" daddy, "my" Ellie...not sure if thats good or bad, but at least she wants us all to herself! Ellie is our silent little firecracker. She makes everyone think she's nice and sweet, and then once you mess with her, she'll fire! She takes a while to warm up to people, but once she does, she's the first to come give hugs AND kisses goodbye. She also knows exactly what she wants--when the girls get dressed, Ellie will tell me which one is her's and which one is Molly's...even if the outfit is EXACTLY the same! Same with food, she knows exactly which one belongs to her...fortunately Molly doesn't care:) Ellie loves to play with people's hair, likes to watch movies and eat popcorn, loves the swings, and doesn't like to jump into situations too quickly. She is very independent, and while she loves playing with her sister, she is also happy doing her own thing and not being bothered. We have tested separating them a couple times lately, which is interesting. They each had individual 2 yr old well checks. Molly was crying the entire way to her appointment because we left Ellie:( As where with Ellie's appointment, she just told the dr that Molly was sleeping:) Then last week, Braden took Ellie to see Planes, since she has the attention span for an entire movie and I took Molly to JumpStreet to jump on the trampolines. Again, Molly cried when Ellie left her:( When I asked Ellie what she did she says "saw movie with Daddy...Planes...I eat popcorn, soda, and milk." And I asked Molly what she did and she said "jumped with my mommy."

My Grandma Betty 5/5/28-4/25/13

To my blogs #1 fan...I hope she is reading this from Heaven as she always enjoyed "watching my blog" as she would say:) April 25th is a day that I will never forget, It's the day you lost your fight with emphesema, the horrible disease caused by a cigarette. I hope you were excited that morning when you got out of bed, As that was the day you were going to get to see Papa Ned. I hope you can now breathe easily in your condo in the sky, I am looking forward to seeing you in my dreams, and am not considering this as saying good bye. I know this was a decision that you confidentally made, But all of my memories of you will never fade. I will always hear your voice and how you called me Dolly, And I feel so blessed for the time you got to spend with Ellie and Molly. They will grow up hearing stories about the best Grandma in the world, And how luck they were to have held your hand during Ring Around the Rosie while the 3 of you twirled. They will be jealous that you gave us cereal with sprinkles and all the cookie dough I could eat, You are one great Grandma that is hard to beat. 1-800-Grandma was the number you always wanted us to call, And we would get to spend the day together shopping at the mall. You introduced me to acrylic nails, And I took part in your addiction to emails. I always admired how you considered it easy to keep a house clean, But I wish you had passed down your relationship with the washing machine. I will always strive to be a social butterfly just like you, And will never forget how you won the "Most Popular Guest" on the cruise ship and out did the crew. Your friends at the Towers think you're one of a kind, You are not only a grandma, but also a friend that is hard to find. I know by movin away I missed out on precious time together, But I wouldn't trade the world for our almost daily phone calls, even if they were just about the weather. Our conversations always ended with "I love you Grandma" and you would say "I love you more," Those were your last words to me that I will hold dear, as it tears me apart that I won't hear that anymore. You may not be with us to physically touch or hold, But I know you will be with us, to watch us grow old. You lived a very full life and taught me the meaning of unconditional love, I know you are happy and peaceful now, smiling down from above.

Happy 2nd Birthday Molly & Ellie!!!
